What is SMT divergence?
Smart Money Technique divergence — when correlated markets move out of sync at key pivot points. Bullish SMT: your chart makes a lower low while a correlated symbol makes a higher low. Bearish SMT: your chart makes a higher high while a correlated symbol makes a lower high. These imbalances often signal smart money positioning.
What symbols should I compare?
Use correlated assets: ES vs NQ for indices, EURUSD vs GBPUSD for forex majors, BTC vs ETH for crypto, gold vs silver, oil vs natural gas. The stronger the historical correlation, the more meaningful the divergence.
Does it repaint?
Pivots are confirmed after pivot formation, so signals lock in once confirmed. In live markets, in-progress swings may evolve before confirmation — that's normal pivot behavior, not repainting.
What are the signal values?
1 = bullish divergence with Symbol 1, 2 = bullish with Symbol 2, -1 = bearish with Symbol 1, -2 = bearish with Symbol 2. Use these in Strategy Builder for clean conditional logic.
Why must I update futures symbols manually?
Futures contracts roll over each quarter (or month). The indicator doesn't auto-detect contract rollovers, so you need to update the symbol field when contracts change.
